Happy Valley Pride 2023 is HERE!
Our 2023 Festival has arrived with our FREE launch night at The Old Gate - as seen at Latitude, Bestival and The South Bank Centre we're bringing you The Big Bingo Show, singalongs, dance routines and performance shenanigans with Timberlina and Auntie Maureen plus an opening set from Generika!
On Tuesday at the Picture House we have the documentary Maisie, co-presented with Hebden Bridge Film Festival and featuring a discussion with Director Lee Cooper and performer Lola Lasagne (as seen in the film).
On Wednesday FLUID L with the T Edition brings an amazing cast of lesbian and trans performers to The Little Theatre in a night curated by Clare Shaw and featuring Jackie Kay - there are limited tickets left!
Thursday - Tea Time Disco makes a welcome return to Drink on Market Street, join us for a bop before your dinner and then, at Hope Baptist Church, we present an incredibly special night as lesbian icon Horse McDonald brings her band and, in a first for Hebden Bridge, a string section. She will debut new songs and old favourites in a specially curated event with a very special guest.
Friday brings David Hoyle's Ten Commandments to the Trades Club, along with future star Ginger Johnson - this event is now sold-out! Tickets for the after-party only with Kim Lana will be available on the door from 11pm (approximate timing).
Saturday is the big one! Our FREE family fun day in the park The Big Day Out is back - hosted by Rikki Beadle-Blair MBE and starring Rupaul's Drag Race winners Ginny Lemon and Sister Sister there will be singers, dancers, choirs and performance galore. Along with a kids play area, our Mind Your Head wellbeing and info hub, food concessions and bars and yes - the return of The Pink Pooch Dog Parade! Our patron, Peter Tatchell, will be presenting a free talk in The Little Theatre at 3pm.
The party doesn't stop there - Saturday night at The Trades Club we present Duckie Meets The Cocoa Butter Club. Happy Valley Pride brings together two LGBTQIA+ performance and clubbing legends for one unforgettable night of music, dance and burlesque - the theme is FUN! This will be one night not to miss - at the time of writing there are just 15 tickets left!
On Sunday we have an online discussion with Happy Valley Pride Chair Jenn Wilson on Consent, Queerness and Neuro-divergency. Over in Todmorden we present Sunday Hangover, a free, afternoon chill-out at The Golden Lion featuring a salon by the legend that is David Hoyle as he paints portraits of members of the audience along with karaoke and games from drag king Terry Goldenballs and performer Blade3000.
We hope you can join us - BE HERE, BE YOU, BE PROUD!
