Happy Valley Pride would like to say a big Happy Birthday to the National Lottery, on its 30th year!
Happy Valley Pride has been lucky enough to receive funding from the National Lottery Community Fund and Arts Council England since 2018, helping us grow to reach 25,000 people per year -11,000 via our annual week-long festival and year round community events, 3,000 young people via our Youth Engagement Project and 11,000 people via our social media channels.
So who are the people that make Happy Valley Pride happen? Well, it's our wonderful community. Last week, we held our latest quarterly volunteer get-together where we talked about this year's festival, what we did well, what we could do better, and what we want to do in the future.
Our volunteers are an immeasurably talented group, lending us invaluable project management, access, fundraising and curation advice. Within this fabulous group of humans are access specialists with lived experience who helped us improve access for our 2024 festival, young people from our Youth Engagement Project who are helping us to steer Happy Valley Pride with their incredible ideas and passion, some brilliant project managers who have elevated our volunteer recruitment process, and trustees who govern Happy Valley Pride professionally and tirelessly.
So thank you, National Lottery, for your help in helping us build this incredible community in Calderdale, and thank you to this incredible community for making Happy Valley Pride.
