"Woooooohoooooo!

After many years of working on an application, we are thrilled to announce that we have won a grant from National Lottery Reaching Communities for three years' funding, lasting from August 2025 to July 2028, of £49,000 per year.

This vital funding is focussed on three main areas: our Youth work; reaching the intersectionality of our local community; organisational stability and sustainability.

With this funding, for the first time in our history, we will be able to: offer three year's security to our Youth team to deliver our amazing youth programme to 3,000+ young people annually; secure one day per week for our core operational team members to deliver our annual festival, year-round events, public campaigns, volunteer engagement, core operational committees; ensure members of our community we have previously lacked capacity to reach get the chance to be seen and heard; ensure that we can continue to promote inclusivity and acceptance in our community in face of rising anti-LGBTQIA+ rhetoric.

Happy Valley Pride has always relied on a huge amount of volunteer support to run, and whilst this will need to continue, we can breathe a big sigh of relief knowing that we will still be here for years to come.

Over the course of this project, The National Lottery expect us to hit our targets whilst using this opportunity to become more sustainable and stable to enable us to continue to serve our community for even more years following the end of this project, so the fundraising continues in earnest with a new organisational backbone in place that we've never had before.

Thank you, National Lottery! We can't wait to start."
