In cabaret ANYTHING can be an act! Cal De Cabaret and Happy Valley Pride team up to offer a series of FREE workshops!
Participants from the workshops will be invited to apply to be part of our Summer Showcase Megamix at The Trades Club on the 23rd July, part of Happy Valley Pride festival.

WORKSHOP 1, SATURDAY 21ST JUNE:
HOW TO PUT IT ALL TOGETHER
Ever feel overwhelmed by your ideas?
Got material but don’t know what to do with it?
Want to learn some new and interesting ways to smash it all together into the form of a show!?
Join Mook and Lizzy of Cal de Cabaret as they lead you through some techniques in material collation, theme finding, through line building and making your work feel complete.
WORKSHOP 2, SATURDAY 28TH JUNE:

Let's talk about funding.
Let Hannah Mook talk you through the magical mystery land of funding opportunities, Arts Council applications and how to bring that organic vegan bacon home Daddy!
Bring your questions, concerns and experiences, and we will chat it out - leaving rich beyond our wildest dreams! (in action plans and knowledge of course).

MAKING A STATEMENT!
Got some stuff that your really need to say? Want to rant and rail (trust us we share your pain!) or want to celebrate something-- but just can't find the right words/drancemoves/makeup?
Fýlthy H Lashes takes you through a political drag workshop, sharing their knowledge on thought provoking performance, drag that'll make a statement and never forgetting your outrageous head gear!

VENUES FOR THE WORKSHOPS WILL BE ANNOUNCED SHORTLY, THEY WILL ALL TAKE PLACE IN HEBDEN BRIDGE AND TODMORDEN.
Lizzy is a Lecoq trained clown and facilitator. She uses a blend of Lecoq, clown through mask and play techniques to create safe spaces to explore inner clown worlds. She has been performing and facilitating for quite a long time now and you can find out more about her here Home | Lizmargereson
Mook is a contemporary performance maker from the deepest darkest depths of Yorkshire. Her work has included residencies and performances with The Royal Exchange Manchester, Vaults London, Lancaster Arts, Stage at Leeds, The Hopbarn, and various basements and fields.A Mook studied Theatre and Performance Practice at Lancaster Uni (BAhons) and Uni of Lincoln (MA) Paper People Theatre
Fýlthy H Lashes is a messy punk creature, with a gnarly wit and gnarlier dress sense, best known for Propping Up the Bar and Flipping the Bird. This apathetic succubus with a high pain threshold is ready to share their process with you.
