Together we can make the change!

In this special talk for Happy Valley Pride, our Patron Peter Tatchell will be talking about the power of Prides and how we can all work together to make a better world.

Peter Tatchell has campaigned for human rights for 56 years. From 1971-74, he was a leading activist in the Gay Liberation Front and co-organised the UK’s first-ever Pride March in 1972. The following year, he staged the first LGBT+ protest in a communist country, East Germany,  and was arrested and interrogated by the secret police, the Stasi. From 1990-2011, he was a lead organiser in the LGBT+ direct scrub group OutRage! In 1999 and again in 2001, he attempted a citizen's arrest of the homophobic Zimbabwean dictator, Robert Mugabe. In 2021, a documentary about his activism, Hating Peter Tatchell, began streaming on Netflix.
